Great book! It covers everything from Setting up shop, wood types and different cuts of wood. Squaring, marking and cutting. It covers all of the different joints and how to make each. Finishing is also covered. It has a ton of good color photos and illustrations in it. Tools benches and safety gear are all covered. Undoubtedly the best single all round book on woodworking I have seen to date. Based on the reviews I figured this would be nice to have, but I very pleased with the overall quality not only of the book itself, but the contents also. I would give it 5 ½ stars if I could. I inherited my father’s woodworking equipment and so I have been studying about equipment and projects. I have purchased approximately 10 + books in the last few months. This one is the one I am most pleased with.

A great book even for those who believe they know it all. You will be able to pick up some techniques that can truly save you time and fingers. This book has many great workshop set up ideas and also goes over safety in depth which is very important in any woodworking project. Whether you are just getting into woodworking or you grew up in your fathers shop building along side him, this book will have plenty for you to learn. The skills you will learn in this book will last you a lifetime and can put food on your table. Learning a craft like woodworking is never a waste of time.

I've only had the book for one day and briefly scanned the contents. After doing a DIY remodel which included installing hardwood floors, building a fireplace mantel, installing windows and doors successfully I realized I could do some incredible things If I could get a solid foundation in wood and wood working. This book does just that, gives me the foundation to become autonomous. This is a great addition to my growing Creative Home Owner books collection. I highly recommend.

We bought this for a family member for Christmas. We were extremely surprised with the condition of the book. Not even a scuff on the cover and the pages were pristine. My husband was even impressed by the beautiful projects it contains and how it goes step-by step; similar to how Bob Ross’ Joy of Painting books are set up. Needless to say; the recipient was overjoyed to receive this.

Bought this for my son-in-law as a Christmas gift. Since I enjoy woodworking also, I read through it to make sure it would be as described. Lots of projects and clear directions and information. Thinking about getting another one for myself!

I gave this to my brother as a gift. He is a beginner woodworker and he loved it. Some of the projects featured seemed a little out of date to me by just browsing through it, but then again, I am not the woodworker

My husband loves this book. Has materials listed that you will need, different ways of building, types of stains and step by step instructions. Has a whole lot more!
