i could feel mariel's sadness in this book through every word she had written. then i see her all grown up with scars that do not define her but made her beautiful inside and out. thank you for sharing your pain and giving hope for myself and so many around going through some sort of sadness in their lives.

There are about 10-12 books that I wish were available to girls and women in rehab, AA, Al-Anon, correction facilities, or handed to them a caring friend and this is one of them. I bought both books and read this one first and was touched by the mixture of love, annoyance, fear of and empathy for her family. Everyone wants to be seen and know that they really, really matter.

Hemingway's autobiography from her little girl point of view. Maybe help girls going through family drama/trauma know very few have TV perfect families.

Although it could have been better written, it addressed some very important issues. The level of material could easily be understood by a middle or high school student. It showed how mental health and addiction issues effect the entire family unit, not just one individual.

She shared her soul and I appreciated it.

I enjoyed this book, though it's written for young people, I think adults can benefit from it because they can see how a young person interprets the world. Everything parents do impacts their child and many of us realize it too late.

it was very good. I would recommend it.

Mariel Meningway's book is a great read. She is very good at conveying her life story. You get to know her really well. She has had an interesting life and came from and interesting family.
